"I like Vancouver's team with [Roberto] Luongo, who can make up some games some nights when they get outplayed, and their defence with [Alex] Edler, [Sami] Salo, [Kevin] Bieksa and [Mattias] Ohlund can provide some offence.
"They have two lines that can score and they have cap space. They could add a good player. That's what's holding Chicago back a little bit with the rookie bonuses having to count [against the salary cap]. Between [Patrick] Kane, [Jonathan] Toews and [Cam] Barker they're over $9 million between them and they'll be lucky to make just over $3 million, which leaves $6 million the team can't spend. They'll be OK next year.
"I think Vancouver will have a good power play with [Mats] Sundin joining that group and that's going to be important. Any team with goaltending and a good power play has a chance. That can be a good combination in the playoffs. But I think if a team is going to beat Detroit, it's going to have to be able to handle the puck and be a bit of a possession team because if you play defence against them all night you're going to get penalties.
