Makes sense in the end, as fellow vote getters Koivu and Tangs likely won't be healthy enough to play anyways (that and Sid and Harvey Malk are much more deserving to be starters).

I haven't consulted with my local ticket broker yet, but I'd be surprised if a seat at the All-Star Game was going for less than a kilo. Too rich for my blood.

Keeping Ovechkin out seems a little much.

Would of actually looked better if it was all six Habs out there and at least it could completely be called what it is and make it out to be a big honoring 100 years.

I love that people make a big deal about the selections, saying it tarnishes the game. Um... it's the All-Star Game itself tarnishes the sport. This is merely a by-product of it. Penguins fans, Ducks fans, and Blackhawks fans all stuffed the ballot box along with the Habs fans. Whoop-de-freaking-do.

the thing I find interesting is that the players around the league actually seem to care. granted the media is force-feeding them the questions, but they aren't saying "meh". milbury went so far as to say the b's are getting screwed because kessel isn't there. maybe, but we've got 3 there; i think washington's backstrom is a far more criminal omission than Kessel's.

as for the starters, its the same in baseball - fans pick em. that said, hockey needs to sort out this gay assed voting script bullshit... wasn't "vote for rory" enough of a sign for those idiots at the league?
