TNT tonight for the last game. I actually let the wife put up the 2022 Cup banner in the man's area yesterday. She deserves it as she's become just as rabid as I am.

Kaut on waivers. Just hasn't been able to carve out a spot yet, but he's got some skills.

Not surprising. Just not skilled enough to be a top six guy, but also a little too soft to be a grinder. Injuries have REALLY hampered his development.

The real puzzler is Shane Bowers. Acquired from Ottawa in the Duchene trade, his development stalled badly once it was found out he couldn’t cut it at center. Why the Avs have continued to hold onto him, even after he and his family voiced their displeasure, is beyond me.

No surprise, Kaut and Bowers clear and are likely headed to Loveland.

Lukas Sedlak, Anton Blidh, and Ben Meyers look like they're going to be on the opening night roster, I believe Helm and Landeskog will both be out for a little bit yet.

Alex Newhook will get every chance to take that second line center spot vacated by Nazem Kadri. Personally I don't think he's all that great as a center, if he's going to be an NHL mainstay, it'll likely be at wing. But hey, if he can do it, that would be huge. Backup options will be Rantanen, Rodrigues, and Compher, not necessarily in that order.

Whoops, my bad, Blidh was waived and cleared as well. Haven't heard if he's being sent down but they at least have the option to do so.

And there we have it--Mikhail Maltsev, acquired in the Ryan Graves deal, is sent down, Anton Blidh stays (for now).

Roster is set. And with that, the offseason (and this thread) are done.
