BB is being quite the jerk about this. Not sure what his hang up is in calling for the league to fix this. If the Canes were able to tighten up and the Leafs couldn't do anything about it....well that's not Ayres' problem or the league's problem. I get it Burkie is an old grump......but he needs to clean this up and let out his inner child.
Kris Versteeg was on Sportsnet (and my wife right away noticed he was wearing the rattiest sneakers ever with his suit and said "Are those his lawn-mowing shoes!?") on Deadline Day and he was kvetching about it too.
I'll paraphrase what wiser people like Pete Blackburn and Melissa Geshwind have said about it, and it's that Burke, Versteeg, and a few others just think hockey should operate like a well-oiled machine, and random, chaotic moments like this that spit out a good story are an example of malfunction rather than function. They just need to admit that sports are chaotic by nature, and that hockey is one of the most chaotic sports on the planet.
Embrace the fun, you ninnies.
