Getting this going already...Crazy 100 points to get in in the East!

Still unsettled at the bottom of the West.

Anyway...I am going with a STL Vs TAM Stanley Cup final with Tampa picking up their 3rd in a row.

The Bruins are 1st round fodder...if they are super lucky they pick up a Carolina team who has no goaltending and will be relying on outscoring their opponent (still not good for the Bruins who can't score and have questionable goaltending).

Calgary looks to have a date with Nashville temporarily....I don't like that team and that could give the Flames fits with Saros and the Norris lock Josi.

Colorado seems to be taking time off. I really don't like that approach as I would rather have my team clicking once they hit the playoffs.

We will have definitive standings shortly to complete this thread.

Habs.

All the way.

Habs to the finals, losing only to the Tampa Buoys.

er...

They still play hockey?

:argh:

I'm gonna wait just a bit since there are quite a few matchups that have not yet been determined.

Same as Erik except I am taking the Bolts and Canes. As much I would like to see the Leafs win, I have a feeling Campbell may not be ready, but what a 2nd round match up if the Canes and Leafs got through with Anderson on the side.

Avalanche over Predators - 4 games
Blues over Wild - 4
Flames over Stars - 4
Oilers over Kings - 4

Panthers over Capitals - 4
Bolts over Leafs - 4
Canes over Bruins - 4
Rangers over Penguins - 4

Central #1 Colorado Avalanche Vs #W2 Nashville Predators

I don't like the Predators or their you suck fans. They don't have Saros and relying on Big Sieve Dave isn't going to work. Even with Sarros they only steal 1. Matt Ducshene can cry for what might have been.

If the Avs take any longer than 5 games its a victory for Nashville.

Harmfuljays says: Get out the brooms....Avs in 4.

Pacific #1 Calgary Flames Vs #W1 Dallas Stars

This is not the Stars of a few years ago....aging core. Questions in net....Calgary under DS is an engine.

Flames may drop one just to cause teeth gnashing in Calgary but I doubt it.

Harmfuljays says: I really like the Dallas goal song but that's about it.......Flames in 4.

Central #2 Minnesota Wild Vs #3 St Louis Blues

Matchup of the 1st round in the West. St Louis (don't sleep on them) is going to get a grueling affair against the Wild in the 1st round. The Thrill and The Flower....Vs an extremely well balanced and retooled St Louis team. Blues get their first test and prevail.

Harmfuljays says: Don't sleep on this team.....Blues in 6

Pacific #2 Edmonton Oilers Vs #3 Los Angeles Kings

Late game..ugh. Depends on the goaltending of the Oilers....Los Angeles is turning it around nicely but Connor and Leon are going to put this team on their back and will them through the first round.

Harmfuljays says: Smelling like a Battle of Alberta in R2.....Oil in 5.

Atlantic #1 Florida Panthers Vs #W2 Washington Capitals

Is Ovie hurt is he not? It doesn't really matter. Panthers may drop the first game as they get their feet wet. The Vet presence and their multitude of experience might help the Caps win a game or 2. Caps will try to slow them down and slog it out. Its not going to work. For everything else there is the Hubris of Huberdeau, Barkov and a returning Ekblad. Florida has too many horses.

Harmfuljays says: Get the Rats.....Panthers in 5.

Metropolitan #1 Carolina Hurricanes Vs #W1 Boston Bruins

Carolina would have taken this home rather easily however Andersen is out. Raanta should be adequate enough for the Canes to move on. Bruins are carried by their top line but have been prone to turning the puck over this year. Canes have depth and are coached by the Bod so they will not be outworked. Boston goaltending is questionable and from a fans perspective the Forbort/Clifton pairing is super scary.

Harmfuljays says: Sadly....Canes in 6.

Atlantic #2 Toronto Maple Leafs Vs #3 Tampa Bay Lightning

Matchup of the 1st round in the East. Tampa has been playing rope a dope down the stretch. Leafs have been white hot. Unfortunately Toronto got Tampa in the 1st round. Soft Leafs D combined with their soft goaltending leaves them trying to outscore Tampa every night as the key to victory. The misery and heart break continue. Sorry Leafs fans.

Harmfuljays says: Broken Canadian hearts..Lightning in 7

Metropolitan #2 New York Rangers Vs #3 Pittsburgh Penguins

For some reason I was forced to watch a lot of Penguins games down the stretch. Thanks schedule makers! For me this is a pick em with the wild card being Shesterkin. Old Vs New in this one.

Harmfuljays says: Out with the old.....Rangers in 6.

Avs are the first team through with a dominant sweep the Preds using their back up goaltender.

Pens could close out the Rags tonight with their back up as well - the Baker. I sure didn't see that one coming. Igor needs to return to regular season form and steal one for the Rags tonight. .905 ain't gonna cut it.

Other interesting goalie notes: Vasilesvkiy (.890) and Campbell (.895) battling it out for the worst SV% amongst starting goalies in the playoffs. Lest we forgot the not so ageless wonder Quick @ .897.

Had the number of games right but the teams wrong in the Atlantic. Good for the Oilers, they knocked out a good team in LA.

Me as well! Perfect in the first round....even calling the number of games and outcomes correctly in 3! Move over Eric and Elliott! Where is my panel seat?

Maybe I should be Hockey Jesus! :smilecool:
