I agree and more than deserved.

Andrelton Simmons is just unreal.

Yankees vs Twins for the AL Wild Card game. Yankees finished 2 games behind the Red Sox. Would have been awesome if the tied, then had a 1 game tie-breaker, and then the Wild Card game. Oh well.

One game can go either way, no matter how the regular season went. I hate that it all comes down to one game, but that's why you need to win the division.

Rocktober begins. Hopefully it doesn't end as quickly as it did nearly a decade ago.

Last night's Wild Card game had some of the ugliest homeruns I've ever seen.

I liked all the Yankee HRs. :D

Sigh...

Oh well, certainly can't fault the Rox on this season. They wildly surpassed expectations. Now to build off of it.

Arenado and Blackmon are surefire candidates for MVP.

Yankees pull off the back door sweep, facing elimination in all three of their wins.

On to Houston, where the Yankees will probably lose. But it's been fun to watch.

Rooting for the Astros by default.

Last night's deciding game between Washington and Chicago had it all. Some truly weird plays, including a reversed decision on a slide back to first that'll probably force MLB to redo their replay system.

Meanwhile, Jeter is about to start a firesale in Miami.

The Giants also desperately need a new centre fielder, if you know anyone.

A couple of 100-game winners meet in the World Series.

My root-for-anyone-but-the-Dodgers stance means I want Houston to win, but LA does have a bulletproof bullpen so they're the favourites. Should be good baseball, though. I think they're the two best teams in baseball.

I'm still completely weirded out by the fact that the Astros are in the American League. That still makes no sense to me. Fucking Selig and his desire to remake his Brewers into the Milwaukee Braves. They should've either just stayed where they were or the stupid D-Bags should've been sent. Reportedly that's what the plan was and Colangelo threw a fit and they relented.

Wouldn't the Rockies look better with a DH?

LOS ANGELES — The Los Angeles Dodgers hadn’t played a World Series game since 1988, but you would never have known, unless you read the thousands of articles or listened to the thousands of on-air discussions that mentioned this. I, uh, might have used YouTube videos once or twice or a few times to emphasize this point. It was an easy target. Pick a pop culture moment from ‘88, laugh at how dated it was, and tie the Dodgers into it.

I mean, look at Orel Hershiser’s sweater here:

Love Brisbee so much.

Ehhhhhhh...not sure I'd like Coors Field with a DH. There's more than enough hitting as is. Besides, I'm one of those weird fans who loves seeing a pitcher get that unlikely clutch hit, unless his name is Al Leiter.

I was kinda/sorta rooting for the Astros, mostly because they've never won it and I like Justin Verlander (well, actually, I like Kate Upton, but still), but that changed the moment that moron Yuli Gurriel made that racist gesture. Normally it doesn't bother me but there was something about it and his lack of contrition afterwards that completely rubbed me the wrong way. I won't be upset of Houston does indeed pull it out but I'll be fine if the division rival Dodgers win for the first time since '88 (I remember that series).

Hell of a Series. Surprised Darvish stunk up his two starts. Enjoy free agency, buddy.

Now let's find the Giants a starting centre fielder.

I think I've already said this, but if CarGo ends up in a Giants uniform I might puke.

Rockies have a very, very important offseason. They will likely lose Greg Holland to FA, and likely Gonzales as well. They absolutely MUST lock down Blackmon and Arenado long-term--failure is not an option there. They also need to re-sign Jonathan Lucroy. Not sure what, if anything, can be done about Ian Desmond except hope he figures it out next season.

Bottom line, they probably need another good bat or two and they absolutely have to shore up the bullpen. If they can find a legit starter amidst all that, great, but everything else takes precedence.
