CC Sabathia opens up to the Player's Tribune about his battle with alcoholism. Great read.

Copy the whole string and remove the space before cc. Getting an error trying to post the link.

So not ready for baseball in the slightest.

Went to the Olympic Stadium to see the Jays take on the Red Sox. Attendance: 52,000.

On the one hand, it's baseball in Montreal, which is a miracle in itself. On the other hand, it's a Jays event, meaning all the gear for sale is theirs, the seventh inning stretch is replaced with some dumb Jays song, and the Stade is draped in Jays logos. Make no mistake: this event is more about the Jays trying to take over this turf and become "Canada's Team" than gauging the interest of bringing pro ball back to Montreal. Rogers will fight tooth and nail to prevent a team from coming here; right now they're just thinking about how to get territorial fees from us.

I did my civic duty and attended the first three years. I think I'll let someone else take my spot next year.

Giants season opens at 2 pm today, meaning I no longer have to pay attention to what the Habs are doing.

Might need to use a bigger font!

This fan's chirp of Pablo Sandoval after he broke his belt on a swing is an all-timer.

That's awesome! But I'd like my belt back.

So before 17 months old, it appears that Leila recognizes baseball on TV(video is on facebook). I an probably count on one hand the number of times I've had a game on while she's awake. How? Kids are ridiculous.

Prince Fielder's career is over due to a neck injury: http://sportsday.dallasnews.com/texas-r ... ers-career

Just like his old man, done before his time. Prince and Cecil both hit 319 career HR's.

Damn, sad way to go. Crazy that they ended with the same number of homers.

Whoa...there's a freaking HUGE guy named "Judge" wearing 99 for the Yankees (SURELY he must be the first one to do so) and he belted a homer in his first MLB at bat.

I'd say wait for the offseason, but then he's probably got endorsements worth more than mine.

New Giants pitcher Matt Moore was one out away from a no-hitter yesterday. But he's also a TJ guy who threw 133 pitches, so long term it was probably a bad idea to keep him in there.

Jesus. You're in a playoff race holding a wildcard spot and this is a guy that you're planning on having there long term. You fucking take him out.
