... Well I started the year with my first sports wager a winner!

Very much of the Who was pre-recorded.

On another note; you won't see this in hockey:

I broke even on my props.. I played 5 tickets overall , hit one to break even ( Garcon to get 5 rec , Shockey not to get 15 yds on a rec , and Donald Brown not to have a 10 yd rush).. Reggie Wayne not making one more catch killed a ticket , the 70 yd INT TD killed a ticket , and Pierre Thomas not rushing for 60 yds killed two tickets. Thomas had 70 yd rec , fuck all for rushing.

Game was good , not a top 10 classic , far from a bottom 10 dud... it was a good game with prime time players going head to head. Hard to believe it was 5 years ago Aaron Brooks and Joe Horn were the so called "stars" for the worst team in the NFL.. now they're legit champs.

Tomlinson released by the Chargers. I hope their downfall back into their usual morass is swift.

and Brian Westbrook released today by the Eagles ... end of another era

the ESPN idiots were speculating on possible landing spots for LT last night, saying he would be best served as a mentor/3rd down back
all well and fine, but are they forgetting LT's ego? He certainly isn't thinking "I wanna be a mentor"; I'm sure he still considers himself a starter
Anyways, given their formula, they suggested Pittsburgh, or maybe New England :o :yayyy: uhh, yeah right
are they forgetting that LT hates the Pats with a passion? Would he swallow his pride to don their colors ... I think not
Would he sign with a team that already has 3 veteran backs his age (Taylor, Morris, and Faulk) ... I think not
They were mostly pushing towards Pittsburgh, and I disagree
Even if he wanted to do it, LT would demand a fair chunk of touches ... and I doubt that would be good for Mendenhall's development
And I doubt LT is looking to sign for a discount anywhere, mentor or not

My first thought was wouldn't Denver be a nice irony  but then I remembered that they have Moreno .... still
Seattle could be the best fit, a team with no true #1 back ... granted they are somewhat rebuilding, and that may not excite LT's interest
Still, they might be the only team in need of a true #1 ... looking around the league, those teams not using a committee already have their man
Seattle signing LT to a reasonably priced short deal of 2 or 3 years would allow them to use their picks elsewhere this draft
especially if they aren't thrilled with the RB prospects (I haven't done my homework, but haven't heard many raves about this years class)

Seattle would be better served to blow it up and start from scratch, IMO... keep the linebackers and Trufant, maybe the odd youngster they've drafted in the last couple years... everyone else, see ya...

I'm more interested in Peppers than LT for the Pats...

Like I said, I realize Seattle is sort of rebuilding ... but they still have to field a team
It's all up to LT anyways ... He'll talk about "winning environment, Super Bowl, etc. but in the end I bet he goes where the $ is

Peppers made 16 mil last year ... not exactly attractive to a team needing to re-sign ... oh, their whole fucking team over the next 2 years
I'm still befuddled as to why Peppers made that much cake last year ... I think I understand the Franchise rule ...
By franchising Peppers, the Panthers had to pay him the AVERAGE of the top 5 salaries at his position
So he gets the highest salary in the leagues history? (for 1 season) How the fuck is that the average of the top 5?
His Franchise # this year would be 20 mil ... again, the highest in history for one season ... what am I missing here?

Pats franchised Vince Wilfork for about 7-8 mil ... and naturally he's pissed :jerkbag:
what, he thinks the Pats would just let him walk away and get nothing in return?
From what I've heard, they offered him a deal better than Jenkins deal with the Jets (about 8-9 mil/season, with 24 mil guaranteed) and he said no
What to do next? Franchise tag :clint: bitch
If I was running this team, ala Madden  (and I'm not) I'd trade him to the Rams for their #1 pick and draft Ndamukong Suh as his replacement
Which is exactly what they won't do ... they can get a cheap pass rusher late in the 1st, that's if they don't trade their 1st away again this year
