and Brian Westbrook released today by the Eagles ... end of another era
the ESPN idiots were speculating on possible landing spots for LT last night, saying he would be best served as a mentor/3rd down back
all well and fine, but are they forgetting LT's ego? He certainly isn't thinking "I wanna be a mentor"; I'm sure he still considers himself a starter
Anyways, given their formula, they suggested Pittsburgh, or maybe New England

uhh, yeah right
are they forgetting that LT hates the Pats with a passion? Would he swallow his pride to don their colors ... I think not
Would he sign with a team that already has 3 veteran backs his age (Taylor, Morris, and Faulk) ... I think not
They were mostly pushing towards Pittsburgh, and I disagree
Even if he wanted to do it, LT would demand a fair chunk of touches ... and I doubt that would be good for Mendenhall's development
And I doubt LT is looking to sign for a discount anywhere, mentor or not
My first thought was wouldn't Denver be a nice irony

but then I remembered that they have Moreno .... still
Seattle could be the best fit, a team with no true #1 back ... granted they are somewhat rebuilding, and that may not excite LT's interest
Still, they might be the only team in need of a true #1 ... looking around the league, those teams not using a committee already have their man
Seattle signing LT to a reasonably priced short deal of 2 or 3 years would allow them to use their picks elsewhere this draft
especially if they aren't thrilled with the RB prospects (I haven't done my homework, but haven't heard many raves about this years class)
