lol, the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette ran this story in their free paper today, that they originally posted on their website two weeks ago:

Had a fun Twitter exchange with writer extraordinaire Robert Hewitt Wolfe and actor Rene Auberjonois, two guys involved with what remains my all-time favorite TV show, Star Trek: Deep Space Nine. Apparently Colm Meaney (Chief O'Brien) was not happy about all the makeup he had to wear in an ep where he and other characters had to pose as Klingons, while Auberjonois said he was quite relieved to wear it since it didn't cover his entire face like his usual Changeling getup did. And all this on Twitter was indirectly due to William Shatner.

Anyway, kind of a fun moment for me. Yay. Moving on...

Great Genesis reference on the latest Simpsons episode. Matthew Sweet did some of the music.

The last season of Parks and Rec will take place starting Jan 13th, on Tuesdays, with back-to-back episodes each night.

And the NBC will vanish forever.

Just finished watching the first season of True Detective with Anam. Really enjoyed it. Quite a Cormac McCarthy feel to it.

Finished Seinfeld, watching Community now.

Been watching Longmire.........Louis Lamour for the 21st century. Very procedural, very 70's feel to the structure of the stories but a very good show.

Also Orange is the New Black. I can see why it makes every critics top 10 list. Excellent, compelling TV, if the 2nd season is as good is the third it'll make my top 10 best television shows ever.

Just got around to watching the first two episodes of Derek and wow was it fantastic. Little draining but I guess in a good way...Gervais certainly cuts close to the bone with this one.

I guess I'm gonna have to try Peaky Blinders. I'm way, way behind on the DVR stuff though. Only just now started on Agents of SHIELD and still have Penny Dreadful and Ascension gathering dust. Finally gave up on American Horror Story--this season was completely unwatchable. Such a shame. Season 1 absolutely hit the nail on the head, subsequent seasons were goofy and way overwrought but they at least still shocked and amused with pure weirdness. This season though...just frickin' boring.

Apparently Person of Interest is not a lock for renewal...I'll be super-bummed if they end it now. But the very SECOND they end it, Michael Emerson and Terry O'Quinn better be cast in the show we were promised right after Lost.

Glad I can cut down on USA shows now. Covert Affairs got the axe and White Collar finished up with kind of a thud. But I guess they were only given a handful of episodes to wrap things up so it's somewhat understandable. Royal Pains is another one that got the boot from me...show hasn't been the same since Jill left.

Watched four episodes of Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt the last few days and it is very good light viewing. My Wife on the other hand seems absolutely enthralled by it and continues to grin for twenty minutes after it is done.

I've seen a few of the Trailer Park Boys movies and thought they were great. I'm halfway through Season 2 of the show on Netflix. Amazing.

Was looking at other works by David Simon (The Wire, Treme) and found he had done a Iraqi war series called "Generation Kill". Don't like the title but damn fine piece of work. 8.7 rating on IMDB. If you're a fan of the "The Thin Red Line, Pacific, or Band of Brothers than this should be a good view.

My wife is just not one for subtlety. She was thoroughly bored by last night's episode. I was mesmerized.

The model at the beginning didn't hurt either.

Watching Ken Cosgrove's downward spiral has been truly painful.

Also, I'm reminded every time Ken's wife is on screen that she used to be the little girl on 10 Things I Hate About You.

Gah, I'm fucking old.

Ya, all the actors speak in their natural accents, only Jessica is from Quebec and the others are French/Belgian.

It's a clusterfuck, and kinda lazy considering how attentive the show is to visual details.
