Well, at least they're putting their money where their mouth is. KISS is still limping along, years after they said they were ending it.

Wow. That must feel great. "We will pay you money to never play again."

This is a real picture I took from the floor of tonight's Kanye West show, about ten feet from the stage. Did not touch it up at all.

Busy concert summer for me:

Winery Dogs
Extreme
Aerosmith and Slash
Motley Crue and Alice Cooper

And hopefully more to come.

And yes, I still live in the 80s/90s

Nuno Bettencourt remains one of the most under-appreciated guitarists in rock. Gary Cherone was a damned fool for ditching him for Ego Van Halen. Glad they kissed and made up.

Saw Crue waaaaaay back in the day, when Carrabi was their lead singer. Surprisingly, he sang the Vince Neil tunes well. Kinda wish they had done just one more album together.

I'm excited about the Extreme show. Love Nuno. It's a free show too!

I saw her last week. Did you get floor tickets? The people down there looked like they were getting a way crazier sensory onslaught.

No I'm in the 300s. It's a free ticket.

Free tickets are the best kind of tickets!

Caught Queen with Adam Lambert tonight.

It did not piss on their legacy. As good as it'll get without Freddie.

I'm not even that big a fan.

Headed up to Kitchener sunday to see Slash with Myles Kennedy and Aerosmith.

OMG! I'm still giddy! Bunch of old bastards still put on a great show!

(and we made it over the boarder and back with only one car search. Although the wait on the Queenston/Lewiston bridge coming home was LOOOOOONNNNGGGG!)

Always find that bridge the longest wait of the three bridges.

Saw James Taylor and Blue Rodeo outside at Molson Ampitheatre so far this summer. Lawns. Summer shows like that are fun, even if I wasn't a huge fan of either act. Both put on a good show.

Classy touch by Blue Rodeo to bring out their opening act to play their final song, Lost Together.

Arcade Fire covered Wolf Parade tonight in Montreal and it was perfect.

For me, it was the equivalent of watching the Beatles cover the Stones.

The missus and I went to Portland Aug 28-31 and we saw two shows while we were there. On the 28th we saw Southern Culture on the Skids who I've mentioned here before. They were at the Alladin Theatre, an old porn theatre turned club. They play a hillbilly/punk/rock surf style blend that works and come up with some really catchy tunes and witty lyrics. The opening act was a rockabilly band from Seattle called Johnny 7 and the Black Crabs and we liked them as well. Both bands came out and met there fans after, no charge. Nice people. Can't say the same for ZZ Top when we payed for a meet and greet two years ago in Spokane. On the 30th we went to the Star Theatre and saw the Reverend Horton Heat backed up by a band from Austin whose name I forgot and Pinata Protest, a tex/mex band from San Antonio who were pretty frantic. The wife was a little on edge with the crowd surrounding us, she was probably the only female without tats in the whole place. I said tats, don't misread it.

ZZ Top cancelled their Montreal show. Oh well.

POP Montreal was great this year. I caught: Unicorns, Twin Shadow, Schoolboy Q, Ty Segall, Trust, Ought, Paul's Boutique reconstructed and The Arcade Fire charity basketball game.
