He's arguably the best player in the NHL with the puck on his stick. Among defencemen it isn't even close. And the advantage is so large it doesn't matter what he does without it very much at all.

We shouldn't be so quick to lump the poor Sens in with the other Canadian teams spinning their wheels.

I think Turris has some upside left. Zibanejad could take a major leap forward.

Cody Ceci and Curtis Lazar could be move up to the top of the pecking order in a hurry.

Anderson's a mess, but if he's not up for it Lehner's waiting in the wings.

The only problem with the Sens is their owner puts a cap on the upside they can exercise. They have amazing scouts and a very good coach, and one hell of a superstar on the ice for nearly half the game.

Phillips doesn't seem too thrilled being passed up in the Sens captain succession for Hockey Messi.

I must be getting old, it kinda bugs me that they all look dressed for a Saturday hanging around the house including the guy being named captain.

I hated getting dressed up nicely for rep games as a kid.

I've never thought much of it when players show up at the rink. but at a press conference where your going up to a podium you need to do better than a T-shirt.

I say you're getting old. No big deal to me.

I don't know. I have to get dressed up for work all the time, it kind of bugs me to see guys look like they've just shot some pool and yet these are millionaires.

Really, I'm just pissed that wealth isn't related to wearing good clothes.

Karlsson looks like a dude in a band, a surfer or a skateboarder. Might look more strange all dressed up  Not everyone can be Henrik Lundquist.

As for the rest of Ottawa's blueline...

Interesting stuff. They block the fewest % of shots in the NHL, and Yost is pinpointing to their high turnover rate on breakouts as the reason. Cowen has turned the puck over 50% of the time he tries to make a breakout in his NHL games so far this year, which is why he's in the press box right now.
