Well at least they get to host the All-Star Game this year. Oh wait...

Talent development done wrong: Ryan Johansen sent to the AHL.

This organization needs Don Maloney and Dave Tippett real bad. Sounds so similar to 2008 Phoenix. Johansen is their Turris.

My opinion of said trade: Yes. It is a trade.

For me, it's just a bunch of names I have trouble saying.

Was looking at the Sergei Bobrovsky entry on wikipedia when this bit made me laugh http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sergei_Bobrovsky

Quote:
After splitting time early in the season, Bobrovsky has supplanted Steve Mason as Columbus's starting goaltender. This is Bobrovsky's first time as a starter since his rookie season in Philadelphia. Bobrovsky has since gone H.A.M. Leading the blue jackets to a push for the playoffs and Mason has been sitting on the bench where he belongs

Kekäläinen's first big trade, and it's a big one.

Like this trade for both sides.

Today's rumor, Bobrovsky has been offered $10 mil a year to play in the KHL and guaranteed the started position in Sochi if he does. That's $10 mil tax free. A lot of money plus the Olympic opportunity seems like a lot to pass on.

How things change. Jax are a complete mess, and there's no respite coming anytime soon. And what's more, they're yet another club having to use LTIR just to ice a complete roster.

Much as Kekalainen deserved a shot, he's not exactly off to a running start. Why in the world he thought it was a good idea to trade for an oft-injured star and sign another is beyond me. Usually you only want one of those types of players in your lineup.

And though it was a move pulled by the idiot he replaced, you can't expect to win when you have two overpaid, one-dimensional blueliners eating up nearly $10 million in salary this year alone. Either Wiz or JJ have to go...unfortunately one has a NMC/NTC and the other, well, no one wants him.

Also, Bobrovsky hasn't been very good.

But has he really been that bad, or just not good enough to cover up for Columbus's slipshod blueline any longer? Honestly, I don't know, I haven't seen much of the Jackets this year.

Weird dynamic the last couple seasons has set up--Columbus finds a winner (for one season at least) in the form of a Philly castoff. Philly finds a winner (for now at least) in the form of a Columbus castoff.

Gaborik, after missing 17 games with a knee injury, is finally activated only to break his collar bone against the Flyboys.

Some players are just cursed.

Well, it appears as if Kekalainen may have been right in gambling with Horton.

The other day Wysh showed the wildcard race and although it is stunning to see how much mediocrity there is in the East it was also stunning to notice that there was only one team from 2nd in the Metro to about 12th it was more remarkable to see that the only team in that range with a positive goal differential were the Blue Jackets.

Geez...even when they're on the right track, they're not.

#CBJ projected 23-man lineup would have salary (not cap) of $59 million. By end of Tuesday's game, $32 million worth of players was missing.

Horton's career is almost certainly over, unless he makes a miraculous recovery, which when you have a degenerative condition, is pretty much by definition impossible.
