Good win, but one game did nothing to alleviate concerns stemming from last season. The Big Three of MacKinnon, Rantanen, and Makar, were HUGE as usual. Georgiev, apart from one bad bounce and mishandling of a dump-in leading to a goal against, was absolutely solid. Beyond that, there's a lot of work to be done. Johansen was pretty much useless, even got a gift feed on the power play and whiffed horribly, banged his stick on the ice afterward. But he wasn't even close to the worst player on the ice for the Avs--that was most definitely Josh Manson, who was lurching around the ice like a drunken Frankenstein and was directly responsible for at least a couple odd-man rushes to the net, one of which resulted in a goal.
BUT...it's just one game. We'll see how it goes. They beat a pretty good, but not great team in Los Angeles. Always good to see ol' Will Ferrell go home disappointed.
