Hey, he's Popeye's son, it's worth one pun at least.

Anyway, a homecoming kinda/sorta for Seth Jones. Both teams have been playing well of late. Varlamov gets the start.

This was actually a pretty damn fun game to watch. Avs were flat at times and the Preds made them pay, but also scrapped back into the game a few times.

Neither goalie was particularly great. Hutton would've been ventilated had the Avs generated just a few more chances.

Stalberg finally shows why the Preds signed him. He and Wilson were clicking all night.

Not a ton from the rookies tonight. They weren't bad, but they certainly weren't the focus of the night.

And Matt Duchene. Yeah, he's good.

Oh well...guess we're going 80-2! :durr:

Seth Jones was insane the night I saw him play in Montreal. Looked like he logged serious minutes here too. Hope he doesn't go all Tyler Myers.

Stalberg was a good pickup by the Preds. If they can't get big names, inbetweeners like him, with untapped O, are the way to go.

EJ got a 10-minute misconduct in the 3rd after accidentally pitching his broken stick into the stands. Didn't even know that rule existed, but I can see why. With Wilson already out by then it was amazing that our D didn't give up a ton of scoring opportunities.

The Preds were absolutely flying in the attacking zone last night--the D just got turned around all over the place and there were missed assignments aplenty. It's not outside the realm of possibility to think these guys could win the division if they can somehow get a healthy Rinne back. They won't do so with Hutton however, he's simply not good enough.
