Well let's see who will step to the plate and violate Feaster in the coming days. My guess on the whole Iginla thing is he signs with the Flames again next year. That's just my take.

Perhaps they will get a new mascot to replace Harvey or maybe trade Eric Francis to Toronto for the Dion.

I'm really perplexed by this. Sounds like the 2 NCAA players are really marginal NHL prospects combined with a very, very late pick it's very likely none of the three never play a full year in the NHL. Can't understand why Feaster would do this, I'd just sit on Jarome and say fine, we're happy to keep you, much better than giving you away for nothing. If Jarome had that hanging over him he may have opened up the NMC a bit more.

That's what I would do as well, especially given that there are a few more days before the deadline for somebody to step up. Feaster needs to be piss tested!

My guess is that it was the best offer by the only team Iginla would actually accept joining. There may have been better offers by the Bruins or whoever (and let's hope there was), but in Jarome's eyes, Pittsburgh was the only team he would have accepted.

With an expiring contract, Iginla may not even re-sign with Pittsburgh so they shouldn't give up too much for what amounts to a rental. This was probably the very best offer they could expect for Iginla, and Feaster probably wasn't too keen to see Pittsburgh go elsewhere for a winger. We don't know what other offers came and went in previous years so...

So is that 3 picks in the top 30 now thus far?

This is the draft to do it!

I'm very excited for the Flames this June - I think they are doing the right thing for this reportedly deep draft.

a 26 year old goalie who is playing in Europe, a 5'9" dman with concussion history and considered to be a C prospect and a pick for JBo? Looks more like a salary dump and tank job then a reasonable trade.

I'd say the chances are higher that none of the assets the Flames acquired play 100 games in the show than it is that they found an All-Star player like Jarome or Jay Bo in these trades.

“I didn’t want to be the guy to trade Jarome Iginla,” Feaster said. “I didn’t want to be the guy who is trading Bouw.

“But the reality of it is, if it’s on anybody, if it’s anybody’s fault, then it’s my fault. I should have had the intellectual honesty even earlier and said this isn’t working.

“So shame on me, but I’m making sure we’re going to correct that going forward.”

Well at least we're getting somewhere.

Good for him. But again, this should have been done two or three years ago. Your return would have been that much better and you might have a solid young core to build around by now. I think the fans would have gotten over the pain of it by now, too.

I'd actually fire Darcy Regier before Jay Feaster. But I'd still fire Feaster.
