Guess Don Maloney really wants some vindication here. He works in CGY as a scout now.

That idiot could never vindicate himself in my eyes. Fuck him with a shovel.

eh whatever.....the roll of the dice on older goalies continues. Just stop the damn puck on a consistent basis and give the Flames chances to win games. Mike Smith has bad hips. So....who's the backup for 30-40 games? If Detroit dumped Mrazek clearly there are problems there.

Well, they haven't quite dumped Mrazek yet...so many goalies available I've no idea which way the Sleepless Knights go.

I suppose a tandem of Smith/Elliott MIGHT work, assuming they re-sign Elliott.

I don't think that's going to happen but as a backup or a tandem with Smith I would not be displeased......I usually try to listen to Boomer & Warrener and sometimes Pinder....they suggest Chad Johnson coming back. To me that seems rather odd if he was such a team player and perfect backup why even bother shipping his negotiations to Arizona.

Yeah I just read 30 Thoughts and the Flames informed Elliott they were moving on. I still think the Flames had damn well better find a good backup because Smith alone won't get the job done.

I dunno, I may have to revise my initial thoughts on goaltending. I still say it's wildly overvalued but it's amazing how hard it seems to be right now to find a decent starter. So many teams are willing to trade for and overpay mediocre-to-bad netminders, it's astounding, really.

CAR trades Eddie Lack, Ryan Murphy and 7th in 2019 to CGY for Keegan Kanzig and 6th in 2019. CAR retains 50 per cent salary on Lack.

Calgary completes the goalie tandem by taking on Lack's 2.75M cap hit, and get a former first-rounder in the process.

Calgary moving and shaking....seeming to communicate that they believe they are ready to roll. Pinder seemed to think a play for Lack was in the works begrudgingly this morning. Well whatever... Chad Johnson didn't want to come back so this is what we got! Now we just need a center so Bennett can move to the wing. Watch out bitches! Flames are coming! Battle Of Alberta on its way back! How about Boyle tomorrow?

I'd take Lack over Johnson any day. Be glad he didn't want to return.

Getting once-promising puckmover Ryan "Glee" Murphy as a depth option/reclamation project is a master stroke. I sincerely hope he finds his way again.

Murphy's tenure in Calgary is over: he's bought out, as is Lance Bouma.
