I've noticed that it disappears when you're inside a forum and I believe once you've made a post, at least in my format (can't remember which one it is) so you have to go to the board index to get to it. Yes, I'm lazy, but it's a very convenient link to have.

I use prosilver and that link is on the left side and only available on the on the Board index page.
