One of the comments on there summed it up pretty nicely:

"So what you're saying is he is Phil Kessel with PK Subban's attitude? Sign me up!"

Indeed.

hopefully he'll still be there at #36 when the Canucks pick again. And after seeing some of the crap thrown Subban's way, perhaps Montreal would be the best place for him, got a feeling PK would make a pretty good mentor and it might be what the kid needs, someone who has been through it before.

Kessel's skill, Subban's attitude?

That would be a killer pair.

Then again, Ho-Sang could also be the next Rob Schremp. Anyways, an interesting wild card for round one.

I guess Habs scouts know him pretty well, since he played with Brady Vail, a player the Habs gave up on due to supposed character issues (i.e. he's fat).

One player who I thought got a raw deal in last year's draft because of race was speed demon Anthony Duclair. That whole Remparts team tanked down the stretch, and for some reason most of the blame was directed at him. Going into the draft scouts had pegged him as lazy and uncoachable. Rangers took him in the third round (higher than expected), and he rewarded them by putting up 50 goals.

Bravo, Dallas Stars. Provide a guide to the Draft Day coverage and it's pro-Canadian bias.

How the heck is Ivan Barbashev still undrafted. Been doing some reading and other than being Russian I can't see why he'd still be sitting. 1.4 ppg, 6'1", plays defense. Seems a pretty complete package.

Definitely the best player available. There was a run of great picks at the end of the first round but not enough made to get all the deserving first rounders in there, he got left out.

Brayden Schenn seems happy with a good prairie boy like Travis Sanheim on the Flyers.

But Sanheim has his own opinions on Brayden Schenn:

I like Barbashev's tough, two-way game, but I guess there's a feeling that his upside is limited.

Actually Audette had over a point a game on a truly horrible team. If he falls out of the first round he'll be a lucky steal for some team in the 2nd round although at 5'8" he may even fall to the 3rd round.

Would fall even more if he didn't have the hockey genes. Habs got Charles Hudon and Brendan Gallagher in Round 5.

130 picks in and Audette's still waiting, someone is going to get a very nice late round pick.

And the Habs take him at 147, such a Montreal pick. I'm definitely envious of your teams scouting, they'll probably keep Bergevin employed for a long time.

Yup, great flyer that late in the draft. I hope Audette gets traded to a better team in junior, though.

Then again, I've always wanted to visit Sherbrooke.

Interesting note: The Avalanche took Pepin in the fourth round. If Roy thinks you're worth picking, that's a good sign.

I love what Nashville did: picking up James Neal and drafting Kevin Fiala.

Finally, some scoring talent in that lineup.

Too bad Spezza turned down a chance to play there. I wonder if he and Fisher aren't the best of buds.

Audette was taken 147th. You know else the Habs drafted at 147? Brendan Gallagher.

The similarities are there. They're both around 5'9, 175. Audette skates really well and isn't afraid of high-traffic areas. Audette is more of a passer, though.

Based on how a lot of teams drafted, clearly his size scared scouts off. At 147, he's an absolute steal. More upside than your standard 5th rounder.
