Karlsson: Rangers I guess...unless Tampa clears a substantial amount of cap room
Panarin: Florida Man
Duchene: Lumbus
Bobrovsky: Other Florida Man
Pavelski: Colorado
Gardiner: Winnipeg
Hayes: Philly
Lee: Isles
Myers: Wylde
Dzingel: Edmonton
Stralman: Back to Sweden
Zuccarello: Dallas
Nyquist: Colorado
Edler: Vancouver
Ferland: Chicago
Lehner: Isles

I'd rather the Avs NOT go and get Pavelski, even though I like the guy, but their options are few and far between.

Karlsson- I'm going to say the Sharks. My crystal ball says.... mmmmmm.... 8 years, $11.5 million/year.

I only hope the Kawhi re signs in Toronto.

With their core from this year essentially intact for one more year, it would be great to give this bunch another chance together.

Cmon Kawhi, at least pick up that option for one year.

I'm guessing one thing that will be discussed in addition to the obvious qualms about signing bonuses and NMCs is this growing problem with teams not tendering RFAs and then renegotiating deals so as to avoid arbitration. That one could be fixed rather easily--just don't allow a team that doesn't tender a QO rights to negotiate a contract with said player. Not sure how keen the PA will be on that, but something's gotta give here.

I don't think we'll see any major offer sheets in the end. More empty hype.

We might see a 3M-4M offer sheet though. Compensation isn't too bad for those deals.

If you have to pay higher end RFAs the same as UFAs why offer sheet? Keep the picks and pay an equivalent UFA.

Would you rather have Marner, Point, Rantanen, etc and give up 3-4 first rounders or just sign a guy like Panarin for the same money and keep the picks?

As you're probably aware, lots of Isles fans want Lou to offer sheet Marner to a huge contract. Either to cause the Leafs more Cap Hell, or get him and fuck up Dubas/Tavares' plan. Giving up 4 1st rounders, which is what the offer would have to be to get Marner, is fucking huge, and I don't know that it would really kill the Leafs, other than the idea that hopefully none of those guys would be on the Leafs while Tavares is still there, so it would kind of fuck him personally. And the Isles' secret weapon in enticing Marner? Matt Martin!

Quote:
Joe Pavelski to Dallas (I’d initially heard four x $8 million, but The Fourth Period’s David Pagnotta reports it is three x $7 million-ish); Mats Zuccarello to Minnesota (five x $5.8 million); Joonas Donskoi to Colorado (AAV between three and $4 million); Brett Connolly to Florida (four x $3.5 million); Richard Panik to Washington (four x something more than $2.5 million); Jordie Benn and Tyler Myers to Vancouver; a goalie carousel that includes Sergei Bobrovsky to Florida (looking around seven x $10 million), Mike Smith to Edmonton and Cam Talbot to Calgary.

Friedman skipping to the end of the book. Lee to MTL or CHI, Panarin to NYI.

Blue Jackets made a last ditch effort to keep Panarin- offering 8 years at $12 million. He declined.

The rumor now is Panarin is still getting offers from NYR & Fl, which most people think is just to drive up the cost on the Isles.
Also Varlamov to the Isles, which I don't really like. But he's friends with Sorokin, who can come over after his next KHL season is over. This is supposedly to entice him...
Lehner was reportedly offered 2 years @ 5 million and rejected it, wanting longer term.
Lee is supposedly heading out. I don't see there being room for the salary he wants, but if the 7 years @ 8 million I've read the Habs are offering him, I'm kind of glad Lou didn't offer it. That's just way too much. He's a great guy and good net presence, but that's another Andrew Ladd contract the Isles don't need.

Lee at 7 x 8 would be cringey.

Myers to Vancouver at 5 x 6 currently stands as the most regrettable deal to be handed out today, but the day is young.

UFAs Hainsey and Ennis follow new coach DJ Smith, Zaitsev and Brown to Ottawa.

Well the scuttlebutt was originally 7x8 so as bad as I think this is, I know it could have been worse. Honestly Hutton at 4x4 would have been a better deal. Myer's stats are really indicative of a player who is in decline. The first two years of this contract maybe okay, the rest will be pure 3rd pairing suckage.
